“You can lead a horse to water... but you can't make it thirsty.”

One of my teaching colleagues introduced me to this alternate version of an old cliché.

How often in teaching do we ask the student, or in business do we ask the client,

“Are you even thirsty”?

We likely have much work and exercise to do well before the thirst arrives.
