Small Wins

Hazel and I were elated when she pulled, “Bloodthirsty Conqueror”, a rare $42 card, while opening packs of ‘Magic: The Gathering’ cards.

We started a new tradition this holiday season: every night, Hazel and I "nerd out" as we carefully open and reveal packs of Magic cards.

Seeing the new characters, admiring the cool artwork, and entering the cards in our app (ManaBox) is a fun way to bond. The funny thing is, we don't even know how to play the game yet.

I read a quote from James Clear today that said:

"Savor the little victories as much as you criticize the little mistakes."

As someone who tends to be way too hard on himself, I'm going to recognize all the wins I can, even if the card is only worth pennies.

  • Now that's peak ethos
