Look closer

While learning about inheritance and heredity in Science 9, I often take close up images of student eye colour. It is amazing what the zoom function on new iphones will allow us to see.

When we zoom in on the images students are stunned to observe that what we call ‘blue eyes’ are often more like a cascading array of lines, shades and blending.

Looking closer at almost any aspect of life will reveal this same phenomenon.

Arrays of complexity, beliefs, dimensions, opinions, moods, emotions, colours and texture.

Although it is easy to classify with green or blue, good or bad, generous or stingy; the truth often lies much deeper.

Take the time to look deeply, you just might be surprised.

  • Now that’s a peak ethos
