It’s the thought, not the price
Hazel felt sad this morning when she was worried that she had not bought a large enough Valentine’s day gift for Mom. A heart shaped bath bomb, and pretty pink hair clip were thoughtfully selected.
“Honey it is never about the value, it is about the thought, and I love them so much” Karina quipped.
As a family who loves gift giving, I always justify the ‘excess’.
Buying gifts forces you to think about the other person, consider what just might bring them joy, and put a bit of excitement on the horizon.
Like Christmas, birthdays, anniversaries, and all the holidays that went before, Valentines 2025 was a resounding hit.
The girls were glowing with their new golden necklaces,
and my new Benchmade pocket knife made me feel a bit more ‘badass’.
Now that’s a peak ethos.
