Contradiction

One of my favourite expressions that I’ve borrowed from Lorne Rubis, and use frequently is:

“Words on a wall”.

Like this week when Hazel was spazzing out on me for being anywhere near her room before bed… Clearly not in agreement with the stated ‘Good Vibes’ and ‘It’s All Good’ posters hanging from the wall beside her bed.

It is the same feeling I get when I read ‘ABUNDANCE’ on the walls of a business that is clearly operating from a scarcity and fear mindset.

Or watching disrespectful behaviours emanate beneath a banner of: RESPECT

No matter how many coffee mugs are printed with your corporate values statement, it is only the actions of those under your brand that matter.

Printing the words on a wall doesn’t make them more true.

  • Now that’s a peak ethos.
